Abstract

Abstract: The research about oil palm empty fruit bunch cement board (EFBCB) on physical properties. In addition, to obtain the optimum performance resulting from this EFBCB mixing, the ratio of 2:1, 2.5:1, and 3:1 mixture between cement : fiber treated EFB was performed. Next, the test on EFBCB that has been implemented is 1.594 % the thickness swelling test according to BS EN 317:1993. While 12.8 mm is the thickness monitoring test is according to BS EN 324-1:1993, 1406 kg/m3 is density test based on BS EN 323:1993, and finally 0.367 N/mm2 is the internal bonding test based on BS EN 319: 1993. At the end of this research it was found that the optimal mixture ratio between cement : treated EFB to the physical properties of EFBCB was the ratio 3:1 with vibration table (VT) method of manufacturing.

Abstrak: Penyelidikan mengkaji sifat fizikal papan simen gentian tandan kosong kelapa sawit (EFBCB). Bagi mendapatkan prestasi optimum yang terhasil dari pencampuran EFBCB ini, nisbah 2:1, 2.5:1, dan 3:1 campuran antara simen : gentian EFB terawat telah dilakukan. Seterusnya, ujian terhadap EFBCB yang telah dilaksanakan adalah 1.594 % ujian pembengkakan ketebalan (thickness swelling) mengikut panduan BS EN 317:1993, manakala 12.8 mm ujian pemantauan ketebalan (thickness monitoring) pula mengikut tatacara BS EN 324-1:1993, 1406 kg/m3 ujian ketumpatan (density test) berdasarkan BS EN 323:1993, dan akhir sekali 0.367 N/mm2 ujian ikatan dalaman (internal bonding) berpandukan BS EN 319:1993. Pada akhir penyelidikan didapati nisbah campuran antara simen : EFB terawat yang optimum terhadap sifat fizikal EFBCB adalah nisbah 3:1 kaedah pembuatan mesin meja getaran (vibration table machine, VT).
