Abstract

This project presents the development of a programmable AC power controller to enhance energy efficiency, safety, and user convenience. The system enables precise control over AC loads by utilizing the ESP32 microcontroller, a TRIAC, an optoisolator, and a user-friendly interface comprising a keypad, LCD, potentiometer, and a mobile application. Users can adjust brightness or power output manually or remotely via the Blynk app over Wi-Fi. Integrating a firing angle control mechanism allows for effective modulation of AC power. Preliminary testing demonstrates accurate performance in regulating the brightness of a tungsten filament bulb, with the system built under a cost constraint of RM100. The results highlight the system’s scalability for applications in smart homes and industrial settings. Future enhancements include IoT-based data monitoring, AI-driven optimization, and renewable energy integration.
