Abstract

Rancangan Makanan Tambahan (RMT) program at Sekolah Kebangsaan Othman Shawal (SKOS) previously relied on a manual, card-based meal distribution system, which led to inefficiencies, inaccuracies and delays in verifying student eligibility and managing meal records. This project aimed to modernize the process by developing an IoT-based fingerprint meal distribution and monitoring system integrated with an automated door lock mechanism. The system utilized fingerprint recognition technology for student verification, controlled access to the meal distribution via a smart lock and synchronized all data with Firebase for real-time storage and monitoring. The mobile interface was developed using the Flutter, Firabase and Arduino IDE and the development lifecycle followed the waterfall model, covering requirement analysis, design, implementation and testing. Testing results showed significant improvements in accuracy and operational efficiency while also reducing administrative workload and human error. It is hoped that in the future, this system can be implemented in more schools and further enhanced with features such as wider hardware integration to better support school operations and resource management.
